http://www.cattailrun.com/. Cat Tail Run Book Bindery in Winchester, Virginia, provides a variety of fine bookbinding services as well as workshops and private study in the craft.
http://www.hnoc.org/. The Historic New Orleans Collection publishes preservation guides to books, photographs, paintings, furniture and family papers. HNOC also manages archival and museum collections at two locations in New Orleans—Royal Street and Chartres Street.

According to its Web site, "The Guild still believes, as did its founders, that there is a responsibility among civilized people to sustain the crafts involved with the production of fine books. Its members hope to broaden public awareness of the hand book arts, to stimulate commissions of fine bindings, and to stress the need for sound book conservation and restoration."

This Alaska State Library link is to a downloadable publication called Conservation Book Repair: A Training Manual, by Artemis BonaDea. The manual presents a clear overview of basic cleaning and conservation book repair techniques, written in layman's terms with good illustrations.

The Center for Book Arts produces books by both established and emerging artists in coordination with its apprenticeship and intern programs and special limited editions of reprinted books. According to the CBA Web site, "Since its inception in 1974, the CBA Gallery has mounted contemporary and historical exhibitions presented in the context of the working artists' studio. Over 140 exhibits have showcased the work of more than 2,500 established and emerging artists."

http://www.thebookbinder.com. Shaun B. Padgett offers bookbinding classes on making artists books, traditional hand-binding techniques, and making and sharpening leather and paper-paring knives. Promotes lectures on a variety of bookbinding or preservation topics for librarians or individual collectors.

http://aic.stanford.edu/. The site of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works, commonly called the AIC in the historic preservation field. Based in Washington, D.C., the AIC is the national membership organization for conservation professionals and historic preservation specialists. To promote the care of our cultural heritage, the AIC publishes conservation guides, maintains an online jobs board, offers grants and fellowships,and hosts an annual meeting for its members.
